The purposes of this Section shall be to
promote the objectives of the El Paso County Bar
Association within the fields of trust, estate, probate
and elder law and, to that end, promote an interest in and
knowledge about such fields of law among attorneys and
other citizens. The purpose is also to foster and
recommend legislation in these fields in the furtherance
of public interest and generally to serve the members of
the El Paso County Bar who are interested in these fields
of law.
The Section shall continue at the sole
discretion of the Board of Trustees of the El Paso County
Bar Association.
There
shall be two categories of membership: (1) Members; and
(2) Associate Members. Members of the Section shall be
those members that meet the following criteria: (1)
licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado; and (2)
membership in the El Paso County Bar Association for the
current year; and (3) have paid Section annual dues for
the current year. Associate Members of the Section shall
be those members that do not meet the requirements of
Members of the Section but have paid Section annual dues
for the current year.
Associate
Members of the Section shall be entitled to attend all
meetings of the Section and shall receive all Section
materials and benefits available to Section Members.
Associate Members shall be entitled to serve on special
committees of the Section and to fully participate in
such committee meetings and activities; provided
however, that such Associate Members shall have no
voting privileges nor serve as an officer of the
Section.
